Armando Campagnoli, a technical expert not yet 30 years old, founded a small machining workshop in Nizza Monferrato in 1972.
The name chosen for the newborn company (or “ditta” as its founder still calls it today in Italian) was “Hammer”, because: “with a hammer you can do everything!”.
Hammer history
at a glance
1972
Hammer begins its activity producing anodized aluminium alloy handles and accessories for furniture, windows and doors in a small garage in Nizza Monferrato (near Asti, Italy). The following year more space is needed and the young company moves to its new premises in Incisa Scapaccino (AT).
1984
Hammer’s business focuses on accessories for aluminum windows and doors. Hammer specializes in the design and manufacture of aluminum, steel and nylon hinges, corner cleats, joints and cremone bolts for major extruders and system houses nationwide. Hammer begins producing original accessories for cold and then for thermal break aluminum windows and doors.
1997
After 25 years of activity marked by steady growth, a complete modernization of production plant is required. Hammer moves to its new plant in Montegrosso d’Asti. Today it has 5000 m2 available, of which 3000 m2 indoors.
2000
Hammer obtains its first Quality Management System certification according to ISO 9000 standard. Believing firmly in the Quality System, in two years the company increases its productivity by 25 percent while leaving the number of employees unchanged.
2006
Hammer launches with its own brand an innovative range of accessories for aluminum shutters. These accessories are extremely corrosion-resistant: with their 100 percent extruded aluminum, stainless steel components and graphited nylon bushings they ensure maximum dimensional accuracy and durability.
2011
Hammer begins a process of internationalization with the opening of HammerTech, its own production unit in Romania, equipped with a powder coating plant.
2022
Hammer looks even further abroad, continuing to focus on the values that have shaped its identity over its 50 years in business. Producing more than 7 million pieces a year and managing more than 10,000 product codes between semi-finished and finished products, the passion for customization is now accompanied by smart factory (Industria 4.0) technologies and methods.
2024
The new Hammer Energybrand is born. Hammer Energy is a structure system for photovoltaic installations, designed for building ground-mounted installations, tiled or pantile roofing structure systems or structure for trapezoidal sheet metal or corrugated roofs. The new brand, which diversifies Hammer’s offering, is officially premiered at the Intersolar trade fair in Munich.
